Bandhani – Indian Tie & Dye

Bandhani is a popular printing technique of tie and Dye from India. The word “Bandhani” comes from a Sanskrit word “Bandhanam,” which means “To tie”. Bandhani work is a traditional printing technique in Indian states of Rajasthan and Gujarat. And the earlier Tie and Dye methods can be traced to be around 5000 years ago.

Bandhani is a type of tie-dye on fabric (Cotton or Silk) decorated by folding and tying it in different threads at several points to form design and desired patterns.
